Game Closure
Hello, everyone. We understand that over the past few days, RPing has been tough due to Livejournal suffering a DDOS attack. We just want to say that that has nothing to do with the decision we've made, and that even without that, it would still have come to this.
Due in part to the slowness of the game, and in part to real-life issues impacting both of the moderators, we have come to the conclusion that it's best if we closed Blood Carnival. We're very sorry to all of our players (and especially to Ban Midou's player, who was only just accepted into the game yesterday), but we feel that there is little point in continuing.
Please feel free to continue threads that you have already started (we will continue to respond to the one remaining hangman thread if it continues), and to play out the events of July 7 if you wish. However, on the morning of July 8, inmates will wake up not in their cells, but in paddy wagons transporting them away from Deadman Wonderland. Any injuries they suffered in the prison, including losses from penalty games, will be healed, and the prisoners will be relocated back to whichever prisons, jails, or holding facilities they were located in before coming to DW. According to news reports, DW was closed down due to reports of corruption and inhumane treatment within the prison. Further details are nowhere to be found; specifically, no mention is made of the sadistic warden and doctor, and due to his vast fortune, Rin'ichirou Hagire has escaped prosecution.
Where your characters go from there is up to you. There will be no prosecutions made for any criminal activity that was performed in the prison itself -- so if your character was a "teacher" during the Milgram experiment, they're off the hook for that. Prisoners who were in for lighter sentences may be released immediately, and maybe prisoners who were wrongly convicted have gotten retrials. Or maybe not; that's up to you.
If you would like to use bloodcarnival to play out the aftermath of your characters' release, that's fine also. We'll be leaving it open indefinitely for that purpose, should you choose to use it for such.
