After that last episode, Wyoming decided that his chance of affiliating himself with the reds was now slim to none. Bother, he had wanted a chance to fight Allison and her freinds. Now he would be forced to work and live with them if he wanted to survive this place. Living in a cave did not suit a gentleman like himself. Especially when a trigger- ( Read more... )

Caboose saw a red person walk into the Base, he was standard issue Red, which meant Leaves or Sarge! One of them was visiting, which made today extra good, he wondered which one it was.

"Hi...Red Guy."

Wyoming turned sharply to the blue Spartan.

"Hello. Don't be alarmed, I'm not a red."

This guy looked like he could snap his little British bones like toothpicks. best to mantain good relationships with this one until he could contact someone to airlift him out of here.

Why hasn't he tried to kill you yet? You're wearing the wrong colour.

Walking into the scene from the direction of the stores, Simmons stopped and stared.
"Well, you sure look like one." The cockbites replaced me already, he thought, putting a hand to his gun. This guy did sound a little familiar, though, but he couldn't quite place why straight away. "What the hell are you doing here?"

Caboose glanced at Simmons while he thought it out, "He's not being Red and Blue is the only place in the Gulch to be."

Caboose moved in to look over the Red-but-not-Red Red guy; he looked about the same height as Leaves, but without Leaves standing there he couldn't be sure. The voice was different but Tex had a man voice before her voice filter shorted out, so that wasn't a sure way to prove it wasn't one of his red Friends.

"You're trying to trick me, but it won't work. Red's wear Red colors and Red is a Red Color, not a blue color; that would just be silly. But you're not Sarge or Leaves, who are also people who wear Red. Red isn't as good as Blue, Simmons here used to be Red and now hes Blue."

"You're sure you're not Red? And that you're not Leaves being funny with a voice filter thing? 'Cause that would be okay too. Would you like a Coffee?"

He thought that it was clever offering coffee, because he'd open his visor and then he'd know for sure.

"You had to tell him, didn't you? And who the hell's Leaves?" Simmons asked Caboose, shooting a glance through his visor at his team-mate.

"Look. Whoever you are, you'd better have a damn good explanation," he remarked to Wyoming, unable to put up his 'good little blue, kill the reds' facade any longer. "Even if you're not Red, you're still in our base."

"Was I not supposed to? Uh what did I tell him that I wasn't supposed to?" Caboose asked puzzled, Simmons sounded not happy, but he had no idea why.

"Anyway Leaves is my new Red Friend. He's the one who really, really, likes the Red Flag. Remember? He came to side winder, and then was with us in the future for a while. He's really pretty nice, you know once you pin him up against something."

"Simmons that isn't nice, even if this isn't Leaves, what if the Red guy who isn't Red wants to be friends with us. He hasn't pointed a gun at us or anything."

Caboose patted Wyoming heartily on the back.

"You told him that I used to be one of the Reds. And..." Simmons blinked for a moment. "And they replaced me with one of those guys? The ones I had to rescue you and Sarge from? Oh, this is just brilliant..." He sighed. I'm always just going to be the 'guy who came over from the Reds', aren't I? "Look. I'm sorry I don't share your sunny outlook on things. I just..."

He looked at Wyoming again, and back to Caboose. "I just want to know what's going on here."

"Please calm down, I am freelancer Wyoming." He removed his helmet and he glanced at the standard blue, to prove that he wasn't really a red. "And yes, Leaves can be quite amicable....I jumped on him in one of the caves back there because I was afraid he was going to attack me. The Sargent didn't like that at all and chased me off. I am hiding here. If you're wondering about the red armour, well," The large one obviously likes that Leaves fellow, "Leaves has my white armour and loaned me this for the time being." Great way to bend the truth there.

Wyoming glanced over to Simmons. I think I remember you....Did you defect?

[Sorry about being slow to respond guys.]

Caboose was happy, he'd met a friend of Leaves. He was pretty sure this guy did something bad in the past, so he'd try to remember while he talked to Simmons. But he knew Leaves, so he couldn't be bad right ( ... )

"He's not a red," answers Church tersely, coming in from the hallway. "You remember that Brit crackjob O'Malley hired to kill Tucker? Well, he came here and killed one of the reds instead. Jacked his armor." He leans against the doorway, resting the butt of his sniper rifle on the floor as if it was a cane. "He's gonna get his own shit, use our radio to call his mommy, and get the fuck home. Isn't that right, Wyoming?"

"He dared me to!" Wyoming said defensively, "You can ask him if you want. And he 'jacked' my armour so I think we're even. And yes, as soon as I can, I will leave."

Simmons took a moment to listen to what everyone was saying, glancing around and taking in all the information. "Well, thanks for clearing all that up." He continued to watch the freelancer closely.

"And, yeah, Caboose, I'd appreciate it."

Wyoming found the circumstances beyond bizzare. So Private Simmons defected to the blue army and Leaves had replaced him.

"I don't drink coffee, thank you. So I understand that you're making freinds in the opposite army? Are you all still working together?" Wyoming wanted out of Church's range, but it would be rude of him not to talk. Besides, if he could make freinds in the blue army, that's less he'd have to worry about the red army and even Church...and Allison as well.

Caboose grinned at Simmons from behind the visor till he realised that it would just look like he was staring blankly at him. So he opened the glass visor up just enought that under the rim of the golden glass his mouth was visable.

"Would you like a sports drink type thing instead Wyoming? I like people, and making friends, so I made friends with some Reds. Sarge is really nice to me, he's fun to listen too, Lopez doesn't like me though. And Grif likes some of the same stuff I do, and Donut likes other stuff that I do to. And Leaves is friendly."

"Simmons are we still working together? I'm not sure if we are. Simmons is one of my Blue friends. Like Church and Tucker and Captain Flowers."

Church jerks his head in the direction of the opposite hallway. "Empty bunkers are that way. Three at the end should be unlocked. I'll be in the comm room. I have shit to do." With a last glare shot toward Wyoming, Church ambles away from the doorway and to said comm room, grumbling to himself.
