I'll be home for the holidays...

Tex grumbled as she shifted the large black satin sack she was carrying. Armor or not, her shoulders got real tired lugging this thing around. Her visors automatically adjusted to the rapidly brightening light that she was closing in on. It seemed like days since she'd walked into the cave tucked away near O'Malley's base. Finally, she looked on ( Read more... )

"Tex! I wondered where you've been for the last month, weren't you just playing a really awesome game of hide and seek?" Caboose asked confusedly.

Tex rolled her eyes and looked Caboose's way.

"Of course not. I had to get away from all your stupid guy talk. But it got boring out in the wasteland, so here I am. And I brought presents!" She hefted up the bag again.

"So where're Church and the Tealtard?" She asked as she brushed past Caboose, headed for the kitchen.

"Church was outside doing something but he'll be back soon I think, Tucker... I don't know did you check his rock?"

"Presents? Really?" Caboose asked doubtfully, its not that he didn't trust Tex, he just didn't trust her because she'd hurt Church.

"I made friends with some of the Reds while you were gone, and Simmons joined our team; Grif, the orange one, is really cool. Sarge is nice too."

"No I didn't check his rock. That place frightens me." Tex shuddered, "And yes, I really did get everyone presents. I'm not heartless y'know." She set the sack on the kitchen table and took off her helmet, shaking out her short black hair.

"And you say Simmons joined us? Great, like we need more dead weight on this team." She rolled her eyes, "Have we got any wrapping paper around here?"

Inwardly she mulled. So the Reds were deciding to be friendly. Well, that put a damper on about half of her toys. The other half she was sure she could find a use for, she just needed a willing victim.

"No Simmons is a cyborg not a robot, so hes not all dead weight like a robot body, lots of it is living weight. I don't think we have any wrapping paper, you could check the supply room, or one of the other bunk rooms they're full of stuff Church told me to put in there because he didn't want to sort it. Our bases have rooms now ( ... )

Tex grinned.

"Mmm....gingerbread. You'll have to make me some sometime Caboose, I didn't know you cooked." She read the card.

"'To Caboose, a friendly blue fella with a good knack for coffee.' That certainly was nice of the Sargeant, considering..." Tex rolled her eyes again, "Never mind. And never mind about the wrapping paper either. I'll just wait for everyone to come in to get them their presents. Oh, and I got some stuff for Sheila too I know she'll adore. And I can accesorize her with some tinsel for the season and..." She remembered Caboose was standing right there, "...and a new paintjob...." She said really sheepishly.

"Ok, so I like Christmas a lot." She twiddled her thumbs.

Caboose blocked out Tex's scarily weird Christmas cheer.

"Just so you know Church is dating again, I just thought you should know so it isn't awkward."

Tex looked up.

"Dating? Who? Sheila? Tucker? You?" Tex laughed at the absurdity of it all. She'd had that boy wrapped around her finger since day 1, there was no way he had to the guts to go out with anyone else. Not that there was anyone else around here. She just grinned as she went through her sack and awaited Caboose's answer.

"Uh me actaully, for a month now." he said, rubbing the back of his helmet with his right hand kind of awkwardly.

Tex froze in her rummagings. That was completely unexpected. Her normally fair face paled as she turned to look at Caboose.

"You're...joking right Caboose? This is where you say something like you've just been eating lots of dates. Together. Everyday..." Tex groaned at her horrible logic. She sat at the table, resting her cheeks in her hands, a wistful look on her face. It just seemed....she sighed and tried to clear the cobwebs in her head...

"No we're dating, well its not like there's anywhere to go, but um... he did once get me to eat peices of fruit that he'd cut up into small slices and sorta scattered over him. And with little sugar trails between them. It was a fun no hands thing. But there weren't any food type dates then."

Caboose got himself one of the sports drink like powders out of cabnet and poured it into a glass, Once he added water and stired it he went and sat down opposite Tex.

Tex remembered that trick. She'd taught him that. The thought of him doing with Caboose....it made her almost want to claw her eyes out in frustration. What would she do? Who would pick her up when she was violently drunk at 3 AM? Who would put up with being her kick boxing dummy? Who could she get money out of in this canyon. She just groaned again and sank her face into her palms, whispering to herself.

"This is not happening, this is not happening, wake up Alli...."

Caboose looked around the room for a sleeping person, but alas he could not find anyone who could be Ali.

"Where is Ali? Is he or she having a nightmare?"

Tex took a deep breath and looked.

"Alli's my name, you big queer lunk. Allison." She sighed again and reached into her bag, "Here. Merry Christmas." She said an almost flat voice. She pulled out a cup and ball set and set it in front of Caboose.

"Have fun with it when you feel lonely." With that, she hefted her sack and headed for her room.

"Church said I was a big Blue Hunk, whats a lunk? Queer is a funny word, what's it mean?"

Caboose watched her leave, and glanced at his gift, then back up at Tex's retreating figure; he stood up and made a hot chocolate and brought it to the door she went into, knocking litely.

"....so then I thought...I should just leave before things got ugly..." Tex heard a knock at her door.

"Just a minute." She called as she stuffed the cut out under her cot where it wouldn't easily be seen. After the mad fumbling, she recomposed herself and walked to the door and opened it.

"Oh. Hey." She didn't look too excited to see Caboose.
