Holy shit y'all! Big shit just happened!
So to be perfectly honest, I've about had my fill of Ichigo and Renji, and I'm not all that interested in what the two of them are doing. Although I will say that the Asuchi reminded me of Aizen's final form and at first I actually thought they were supposed to be his zanpakutou. Which really confused me until it was explained what they really were. o_0
But what I'm really here to talk about is Unohana. Unohana. She was mad creepy this chapter and after years and years of mystery and wondering what the hell was up, I finally understand why all of Soul Society is scared of her. The woman looked psychotic! And something about her eyes was...dead, which was unnerving... Kubo when the fuck are we going to get TbtP2?! Because now I have more questions than answers.
What we do know (or can assume, anyway) is that Unohana has worn her hair to cover the scar Zaraki gave her. His own scar came from her, and I'll admit I've always had a hard time reading Unohana, but there seems to be an air of hostility--or maybe even resentment--when she's talking to him. Yet we know that Zaraki named Yachiru after "the only person he's ever cared about"....
So what exactly is the nature of their relationship? I'm dying to know! This also makes me that much more curious about her relationship with Yakuza-san from 0 Division. Along with Zaraki he seems to be about the only one who isn't terrified of her, and he went so far as to ridicule her. I'm assuming he was in charge of the 4th while she was in charge of the 11th, so did she go to him after she was knocked from her captain's position? It's still so incredibly interesting that she's touted as Soul Society's most diabolical criminal--and the inventor of the art of killing--yet somehow ended up a healer of all things. Just what was her thinking behind that? And why am I thinking that her giant manta ray zanpakutou actually ate people once upon a time, and didn't just help transport or heal them?
Ugh I cannot wait to see her fight Zaraki. I need to know more Kubo-sensei!
