Interesting fic! It would never occur to me that Byakuya and Gin had a close relationship. I liked how your fic gave an insight into the psychology of the characters - Byakuya was so stoic on the outside, yet emotional on the inside, and Kira seemed so bitter and unhappy...

Also, it does my heart good to see that Kira is a Captain, even if he has still a long way to go to be really good at it.

All in all, I liked your fic, the situation you described was quite interesting. Thanks for writing!

Thank you! Yes, their closeness really is a bit of a mystery, and it's not something you'd expect because they were hardly ever shown together in the manga. But I have a whole chest of ideas on how and why they are close, and I'll probably be exploring that in the future :)

I'm glad you liked it, thank you!

Thanks so much for pointing out that typo for me! I fixed it :D

I hope it didn't come across as OOC for you when he defended Renji? In my mind Byakuya is cold and distant with Renji, but the man is still his fukutaicho, and I think that Byakuya really does care for him even though he doesn't express it openly. That and I think that after the war he'd come to respect Renji more, and maybe even feel closer to him. They've been through a lot since the beginning of the series.

Oh!! Gin and Byakuya having been close is a surprise, eh? You'd be even more surprised to see how likely it really is. I have a very fleshed out theory inside my head, that I'll probably (most definitely) explore in the future, to shed more light on their past together :)

Oh, then great :D Yes you're right, Byakuya did kind of take it personally. Renji is a part of his division so when someone puts down Renji, it's putting down the division and Byakuya as well. And that the Kuchiki noble is not going to tolerate.

I hope you'll like it ♥

Ah! That was shorter than the comments you normally leave, lol XD I'm hoping that you really liked it and that you aren't just being nice to me~~ *is kidding*

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Gin/Byakuya is a pairing that's new to me; I wasn't thinking about it until just a few weeks ago. But I have all kinds of ideas for them

Whaaa?! Don't be paranoid about something silly like that, I always like getting detailed comments from you! For me it's all about hearing exactly what the reader liked and didn't like, so I can improve my writing in the future :)

That's a good rule, I'd stick to it if I weren't so...crazy for the crack XD I just can't help myself when it comes to shipping people whom you wouldn't see together normally (if ever).

A Renji/Byakuya fan, eh?! I didn't know that :D You must know about drabbleandfluff's stuff, right? She does some amazing Renji/Byakuya, though to be technical it's more along the lines of Bya/Ren.

When it comes to Gin I prefer... adorable :D But that's probably just me being weird, because I think guys like Grimmjow and Kazeshini are adorable =_=;;; I just like raw energy and primal sensuality. Gin kind of has that, but in a more...crafty and cryptic way.

Oh yes, this is just the ticket. Intricate, subtle and with excellent characterisation. It read as reality, and that is such a hard thing to do, I find. I could completely believe in Byakuya's voice, and the circumstances that brought Kira to his office. The descriptions were lovely, I particularly like the reference to the blond's hair looking ginger in the light. It's the small attention to such details that give the bigger details more weight.

Not to get too technical but I appreciated the balance between pacing, description and internal voicing.

I loved the smiling face he ended up drawing. All that control but his hands failed him in the end. Brilliant.

Rozzzzz I'm so happy to get a comment from you!! It's been so long. I should have known that Byakuya would bring you out of the woodwork :) I really hope that I did him justice, it was my first time writing him and that always makes me a little nervous.

Oh!! He didn't actually draw Gin's face, though. It was simply that when he looked down at his paperwork, he envisioned Gin's grin instead of seeing written words. I'm sorry if I didn't make that completely clear!

I feel so loved ♥ I'm out in the wilderness you know, gathering acorns... and reading Naruto.

Oh dear, well I think my own sub-conscious got the better of me there. I wanted to read that so I did ^__~

This is a great crack at Byakuya. I'll admit freely that I can't nail his character, so I ... compromise by altering his situation to an insane degree ... that and I'm perverted His responses, thoughts and syntax capture his deliberate calm and bearing perfectly. At no time at all did I think -- this doesn't ring right. In summation, you must write more of him.

Of course you're loved! I've always enjoyed your comments and our stimulating convos! But Naruto... I've never read that manga, is the fandom any good? What pairing are you into?

Haha, no worries. I fully support those kinds of fantasies XD

Thank you again! It's a huge relief to hear that. And just for the record, I've always enjoyed your Byakuya immensely.
