vball tomorrow! Wee! I'm thinking of signing up for French classes through Halifax Rec. That or maybe guitar classes. I feel having one weeknight free of scheduled activities per week is dangerously too much unstructured time.

I play piano, and when I did some volleyball in gym class, I found my lower arms hurt from it so I stuck to just playing piano. (not a difficult choice cause I was always lousy at gym activities) I began playing piano early on so I think my fingers are used to what I dish out. I wonder if John Mayer's has to do with playing geetar, or whether he did it doing something else more sporty. With a dude whose living depends on how good he plays guitar, I wonder if the ganglion affects his playing. Reading your posts, I feel lucky I never did anything to my hands. Though I did get a nasty cut on my right pinky a couple of years ago that did something to the nerve; I have more or less full use of it except some fine movements. I think that I don't use it to type at all anymore.
My mom has arthritis in her knees, they injected in some synthetic fluid to relieve her symptoms, I wonder if they haven't thought of that for your type of wrist thing? Hmm.
My latest little pesky physical thing is my face, I think I have eczema or some other itchy thing happening there. I hope I'm not allergic to my cat, is all.
Yes, you would have to work hard to pry Mike away from teh volleyball for sure.

Cysts can be surgically removed, aspirated, or injected with anti-inflammatory meds. Docs don't like doing any of those things except for extreme cases where the cysts are the size of golf balls. If I'm careful, no pain. Surgery is the only way to guarantee a non recurrence, but there's always the danger of nerve damage to the hand. No way, Jose.
From my understanding, no one knows for sure what causes arthritis but there may be genetic factors (can run in the family). I'm optimistic that by the time we're seniors, there will be a cure.
Some famous person once described musicians as athletes who use the small muscles of the body as opposed to the traditionally recognized athletes who use the big muscles. I think there's a great deal of truth in that.
I play the piano, too. As a kid I was force fed Chopin and Mozart and all the other classics. Not for me. I like blues, boogie woogie, rock and a bit of ragtime. I suck, mind you. But I'm the only audience. :)
