[He needs to learn how to memorize handwriting XD]
Indeed, we seem to be in the minority.
Quite possibly, and that's certainly likely to be true; considering I haven't met most of them personally, I would not like to say for sure. But the majority of people here seem to come from Earth.
[He's never had to do that before, so - I'm tempted by the thought that he might quietly copy or cut out a couple of lines, glue them to a chart, and consult it.]
Or some other [remembers it's rude to call people rimkin/backwater/whatever] isolated planet. With small reference pools.
[I'd have to go back to old entries. "The last line has been neatly excised with a pair of scissors. Underneath the gap, it's copied again in Rogue's distinct, terrible handwriting." Or maybe... yeah, you know what? He's got a whole mess of labeled strips of paper labeled with names, acting as bookmarks. Sooner or later he won't have to look anymore.]
Exposure to collected ideas, more or less. How do I phrase this... You and I, I'm thinking, have seen a lot of the galaxy, so different species, even ones that are superficially very similar, are easy to grasp. So are names that aren't like ours. We have larger reference pools.
[Ahah, that does sound like a lot of work! And you probably would have had to talk to the mods about it anyway. This idea is easier for you XD]
[Pen taps] I must be tired. I assumed you were referring to an actual thing--another word for a library, perhaps--but you were in fact being quite literal.
In any case, that does make sense, yes. At the very least, it is a very plausible theory.
It seems an easily pronounceable name to me. Congratulations on recovering it.

You can say it too, Fred? Here I was starting to feel strange.
Maybe it's more of that thing we were talking about. Do you think most of these people are Earthian?
[the way Rogue pronounces it probably includes an apostrophe, though]

I'm pretty sure that that's not the proper definition, but I think I got the meaning across.
[And 'pools' suddenly leads to a version of one of Admiral Ackbar's watery metaphors] Fish used to swimming in a river are lost out in the ocean.
