Indeed, we seem to be in the minority.

Quite possibly, and that's certainly likely to be true; considering I haven't met most of them personally, I would not like to say for sure. But the majority of people here seem to come from Earth.

Exposure to collected ideas, more or less. How do I phrase this... You and I, I'm thinking, have seen a lot of the galaxy, so different species, even ones that are superficially very similar, are easy to grasp. So are names that aren't like ours. We have larger reference pools.

[Pen taps] I must be tired. I assumed you were referring to an actual thing--another word for a library, perhaps--but you were in fact being quite literal.

In any case, that does make sense, yes. At the very least, it is a very plausible theory.
