it's funnier when it happens to someone else. so one day in Dallas, my mom was trying to make sure i didn't have a fever because i was puking for a couple of days. she used an ear thermometer a little too aggressively while i was sleeping one morning. she pushed it too far into the ear canal. at first it hurt a lot, then it would bleed occasionally, and then my hearing became muffled. today, i went to the emergency room (i don't have health insurance, not because it was that serious) to check out the vomiting situation. i have a stomach flu and bacterial 'labyrinthitis' of the inner ear. thankfully, i will feel much better soon with my antibiotics.

in other news, my kitty is also feeling much better. i watched Devil's Rejects and some documentary on the Gators in Iraq, which is my brother's squadron. the former was pretty horrible...oh Rob Zombie, stop directing movies. in the latter, i watched more camel spiders and scorpions fight to last a life time.
