what's orange and white and good to bring along if an astronaut invites you over for a pot luck dinner?
answer ahaha, Tang Pie...dirty.
my first Halloween in Michigan was a success, and i learned all about the tradition known as Devil's Night. handbooks should be written and handed out upon moving to this state. Saturday i went to a party...didn't think i was going to have much fun because (1) i know a very limited amount of people, and (2) i did not turn out to be the sheep i wanted to be. as it turned out, i ended up meeting and talking to the entire party and danced by myself on more than one occasion. i do not have pictures because i am lame. Monday, i helped Andrew carve his first pumpkin in many many moons. he described the process as "conducting an abortion". hung out with Rich and Katie as well to hand out candy to the young ones and to play Phase 10...holy crap, this is the new Uno...for me anyway.
it actually reminded me of Jeff's story...which i hope he doesn't mind me showing to people:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/jefecooper/2005/09/19/ because it illustrates really well how embarrassing disrupting class in law school...or really any class is. anyway. i had to take my car in for an oil change, tire rotation, etc. this morning. while in the waiting room i noticed lethargic bees crawling around me. for those of you who are not aware, i am allergic to bee stings. so i panic a little and inform the attendant, who supplies me with a fly swatter. i eventually leave and head straight to school from there. i go to grab my book bag only to squash a bee in my hand who had been laying on the shoulder strap. the stinger pierced my hand. it hurt but not too badly, and i thought i would probably be ok with just one small bee sting. half way through class, i felt like crap. i got all puffy, my contacts wouldn't stay in my eyes, and right during Professor's Corbett's reminder of Fifth Amendment protections, i vomited on the floor. luckily, i sit in the front row. again, i am THAT girl at school. nothing but silence. i was offered the option to skip out on the rest of the lecture without repercussion, but due to the contact mishap, i was now unable to drive myself home. so i decided to stick around for the rest of the class because i was feeling much better and also because i needed someone to drive me home so i could retrieve my glasses and then in turn drive them home. it was a bizarre day.
