I guess weirder things have happened...
Went to the Grand Canyon today with my friend Figa ... not the one in the US the one in Haifa ... I know you might be thinking "what?". There is a big mall in Haifa ... and that's the name. Well while I was there I went to look at the Birkenstocks ... and there was a very nice boy working there ... moved here from S. Africa 7 years ago. He was trying really hard to convince me to buy these really cool shoes ... buuut I really didn't know if I should spend the money, so I left. A couple hours later I walked by the store and he was like you know you want the shoes (not nice), and he and his boss gave me some discounts and convinced me to buy them ... well by this time it had gotten late and I realized there might not be buses back ... He made a call for me and it turned out that there wasn't ... SO, he got us a ride ... we walked about 3km to his house, met his family, and talked for and hour with his mom and sister ... afterward he drove us to the kibbutz (about 30mins). His mom invited me for Passover (which I'll be in the US for) and to come back anytime for shabbot. I just thought the whole thing was a little crazy ... but nice all the same.
