No longer a waitress!!!!!
and hot damn it feels good!!! I had to work a double today...from 10-2 and then from 4-8. I made fifty dollars...which has to last me until i gate a paycheck from Ballard's...aaacckkkk!!
Know how your hair looks gorgeous on the way to the hairdresser's? And your car doesn't ping or clank in the mechanic's? well, apparently, the same concept is present on your last day of waitressing. Customers were nice and tipped well even if i forgot them, coworkers were funny and friendlier than normal, my feet didn't hurt, the boss even bought me lunch, and my closing duties seemed to be all done when i got around to them....still doesn't make me want to go back, but it was a nice last day.
i counted up all my bills, not including miscellaneous buying like lunch at school, and with my new job, i'll still be $127 short each month. BUT, that's a helluva lot better than $500 short. with the waitressing job, i could either pay my rent or my bills, but not both. the 'luxury' bills like the 'net, cable, and cell phone only add up to $97...which is a major chunk of my short-ness, but i don't know how people live without these things. i'm a child of the cable generation...what's a book? why do people read the paper when the news is on sometimes 24/7? and the radio??? p-shaw!!!
I start my new job on Monday and i couldn't possibly be more excited!!! While y'all are on LJ, go check out Andi's journal at ohsnapitsandi. Listening to her in class or at dinner is great but reading her brain is kinda fun too......
