Sunshine and Summertime
It is Friday, class is over (mostly because of a rash decision on my part after sitting outside in the sun for an hour eating lunch). I thought to myself, who needs class? I won't miss anything. It's fucking gorgeous out here. So, I continued to sit with April, soaking up the wonderfully warm rays of the sun knowing that in less than 24 hours we will be on our way to our own little slice of paradise.
I will be in Hilton Head, SC for an entire week. I will think about nothing. No work, no school. I want to leave every aspect of my life behind (as much as I do enjoy my life) for the whole week. I want to be in a new place with a drink in my hand every minute that I am not sleeping. I want to read for enjoyment. What a concept. Something my being an English major has hastily ripped away from me.
My hope is that after this week, I will come back refreshed, tan and having read at least one entire book because I wanted to.
