"Papa, papa, look at me!" Akio called, his face red from exertion. Getting Papa's attention was never an easy task.
"Look at you Akio-kun!" Nanny called from where she sat in the shade with sister. "You're very brave!"
Akio smiled, swelling with pride. Even if this nanny wasn't a trained nanny like the others that he and Ayami-chan had chased off. Akio liked her, and he was glad she stayed.
He watched nanny get papa's attention, and finally , papa looked up at him.
"Look at me papa! No hands!" Akio called again, the grin that split his face was so big it almost looked painful.
"Akio-kun, keep your hands on the bicycle please." Akio's face fell, Of course his papa wouldn't be proud of him for learning to ride a bike with no handle bars. That wasn't important compared to the important grown up business papa did.
Akio was so upset, he didn't notice the basketball in his path. Instead of shooting out when the bike hit it like a basketball was supposed to when it was hit by a tire, the handlebars were wrenched out of the seven year old's hands, and he pitched to the side.
There was a scream, though it was unclear if it was a cry of pain from Akio, or of concern from Haruhi or Ayami. No one would have expected the cry to come from Kyoya himself.
