(no subject)
I've tried all sorts of new things this week, and the week is far from over! Well maybe nothing else seriously planned, but at least I've stepped out of the box!
Yesterday I went to the shooting range with some co-workers to learn how to use a firearm. I absolutely enjoyed it! I really had a great time with the guys and learned some really useful stuff. My aim isn't so great, but I'm a novice :) You have to compensate for how you move and how far away the target is. Anyways, I liked shooting .22, because there's very little recoil. I kinda expected to get hurt or something wrong to occur, but it was smooth. It was the all-day event involving breakfast and drinks afterward...gotta love happy hour! Especially with the boss :)
Tonight I went to the guys poker night. I had a great time! And it turns out I'm not too bad at poker! I've played once or twice before and sucked real bad. My friend's wife helped me out for the first hour or so to get me on my feet. From there I rocked it! I got into a groove and wound up probably more ahead than everyone else! I walked away with about $40...not too shabby! I know they took it easy on me for a bit and then it was ON. I never knew I had skill! Maybe it'll come in handy when I go to Vegas in a couple months. I have no trip booked yet (waiting for 2009 work schedule), but it'll be booked ASAP. As for travel companion...anyone who can afford to go. I know the current boy wants to go, but he doesn't dance. I want to hit up the party scene! And that involves alcohol and dancing...
I'm in the middle of the 3rd Twilight Saga novel. It's so good I can't put it down! I don't know how I got anything done today...the last 2 were finished off in only a couple days. The story is so captivating, it takes over my life. All I want to know is what happens to Bella and Edward. It's so romantic, so "romeo and juliet", so enticing. Maybe if I read a chapter real quick before passing out...
