Going to CNU last week was the best thing I've ever done, except maybe going to BOA last year...
I met so many people... Lisa, Grace, Sarah, Grant, David, Michael, Chris, Sara, Paul, Whitney, Kevin, Pat, Matt, James, John, Camilla, Kacey... The list goes on. These people kept me entertained during class, amused me during meals, and contributed to my lack of sleep by staying in my room til all hours of the night.
Tuesday was good. Had guard auditions. Those went well. Had reception and dinner with PLP people and Pres. Trible. He even sat at my table during dinner and talked with us. Wouldn't see that at a big university! Met in our groups, go Team Teal!!! Got my schedule done, which was exciting. Stayed up til 1:30ish talking with Sarah (my roomie for the week) about all sorts of stuff.
My schedule before i forget:
MWF 9-950 Honors Hist to 16th Century Mazzarella
10-1050 Honors Public Speaking Comm 201 Staff...
12-1250 Math 125- Statistics Zong
4-6 Marching Band Douglas
TR 215-345 Leadership 210- Self Leadership Goins
400-515 Honors Philosophy 101 Dr. Kip Redick (He's also my freshman advisor)
It's a pretty good schedule. Turns out MB will be exhibitioning at Hermitage along with JMU, i'm excited!
Wed I had classes pretty much all day. After our baby travel pods experiment (we had to make a container using random materials that would allow an egg to survive a 3 story drop from the windows of the PLP offices. The Teal groups survived!!) Spent a ton of time haning out with people in my room after we got done with that.
Thurs my group went Kayaking and climbed a ropes course. Kayaking was kick ass. We also got time to swim to different sand bars in the area and splash each other. Kevin threw me into the water once, but stopped after i told him i didnt want to lose my sunglasses. On the ropes course I climbed the 50 foot tower via the missing link. When I get pics of it, I'll show you all! Was up hanging out with people til 3:30 or so, it was a blast.
Friday was an emotional day. Our classes focused on diversity and public speaking. We did a game called the privilege line which called out everyones differences. When we debriefed after the exercise, almost everyone was crying or tearing up. The bonds that were formed today though will last longer than some bonds I've formed in the past. Friday night was the variety show. More good times to bed had. Afterwards a bunch of us stayed up til 5 am just hanging out and enjoying each others company. I got up at 7:30 for breakfast on sat morning. Sat was fun, I really didn't wanna leave. I made so many friends and learned a lot about myself and others. I can't wait til classes start back up in August. 6 weeks to go!
The Highlights of the week include:
John being my Aloe-Purple Buddy...
No Purpling Allowed...

In the week I was gone I found out that I really like my mattress at home! I like eating food when I want to and popcorn will become my best friend in the coming years!
I wish everyone would be as lucky as I was to have this time to hang out and forge longlasting friendships!
