Friday morning, i got up at 7 (yes, at 7!) to shower. no hot water...no warm water...nothing but cold.
ok. im over not being able to shower - I´ll shower tonight. go right to getting dressed. go to take a shirt out of my closet and its covered in bleach. and its not just one shirt...there are bleach stains on most of my shirts. now im pissed. my madre is obviously having wash problems.
its already weird enough to have someone else do my wash and stuff, but now shes ruining things. and my clothes arent something i like messed with. i havent been happy with the wash thing since i got here...she washes everything with towels and my t-shirts look like ive had them for about 10 years. ive talked to my mom about it and she was like, its nothing you have control over...blah blah. so i let it go...i figure ill wear them now and when they get too awful, ill just chuck them and not worry about bringing them back to the states. but now its like ALL the stuff i brought! (which wasn´t really a lot to begin with)
back to Friday morning, she was in the kitchen so i went in and said something - i asked her not to use bleach on my clothes. she said she doesnt. and the only place she uses bleach is to clean the bathroom and she doesnt know how that happened but shes sorry. and i know she felt bad but it doesnt mean that i dont have ruined clothes that i have to replace. plus, why lie about it. there was too much bleach for something to just have rubbed off the floor. UGH!
nearing death, i left for class in the bleached shirt, too annoyed to change it. the only saving grace was that i was going to granada for the weekend with my program, right after my test. so i didnt have to worry about being back there until sunday.
i complained to my teacher that my spanish is going to suck because i had a bad morning. she felt bad for me...I didn´t do that poorly on the test.
Granada was awesome. it was cooler there and actually felt like fall. some people and i went to see flemanco. it was awesome. the dancing was crazy! I posted pictures - on time...that´s novel. the tapas in Granada are also amazing and FREE. I spent enough money but didn´t have to spend too much. plus, the hotel we stayed in was soooo nice. it was a great weekend.
i´m back with my madre and she hasn´t bleached anything else yet...there are still 9 weeks to go though.
xo.
