the miracle of life is the grossest thing ever
so wednesday night while i was sleeping i had a really GOOD dream ;] and then a really weird (but still good dream) i dreamt that my sister already had the baby and my grandma and i were watching her and she was yelling at me for no reason lol
SO i'm getting dressed for class yesterday becase i only have an afternoon class. anywho i'm getting my notes and stuff together when my phone rings - it was my momma but i didn't think anything of it. so i answer and she sounds all calm and asks me what i'm doing and i'm like "getting ready for class..." and she's like "well danielle's in labor do you wanna come home?" and i start freakin out like "omg are you serious?! yeah!" and so i have to pack but i'm so excited i didn't know what to pack first and then i wanted to tell people so i called karen and she was sleeping and yelled at me because she has no minutes haha then i texted sam and adrienne. then i just took a whole bunch of clothes and shoved em in my bag and got everything else and ran outta my apartment. on the train i could NOT sit stilll. when we weren't underground anymore and i had service i texted EVERYONE hahaha got to the train station and my mom wasn't there yet so i waited in the sunnn. then she got there and we stopped at wawa cause i didn't eat anything alll day and the cashier was this senile old man who was so slow! i guess that really didn't matter because when we got to the hospital (and past the maternity nazis) she was fine.
she'd been in labor since 8:30 when some of her water broke (which i didn't even know could happen) and in the hospital since 10 and alyssa wasn't even born until 8:30 at night. first of all there's apparently only 3 people allowed to visit her and there's no switching off. like i walked up and i didn't have a wristband and my mom was like "but she's her sister" and they were like "well we have to go make sure it's okay with danielle...stay right there" and i had to sign something. bitches. what i thought was gonna happen was when she actually had to start pushing, only joey would be allowed in the room but nope we all were.
it was funny because the doctor was saying the baby was coming along and she added in jokingly but kinda serious i think that alyssa should hurry up because "grey's is on tonight and it's a two hour special!" hahaha i also found it funny that the first couple of times my sister had to push i was watching Friends. (TOW Ross dates a student...i know you were wondering julie <#) so yeah i had to HELP DELIVER my niece and it was the grossest thing i've ever seen. i don't want to do it! i don't know how my sister did it, especially since alyssa's a lil heffer (haha sammy...) and weighs 8lbs 6oz! and she has a big head haha <3 now my shoulders hurt because i was helping danielle by supporting her shoulders/head/neck when she pushed and she's all huge haha and she kept pushing against me...another cool thing is when they moved her to another room before she actually gave birth, they gave her an epidural, which i wasn't in the room for, but i WAS in the room for the rest of her water breaking haha what was cool about it was her stomach instantly went down.
but yeah as grossed out and horrified as i was by the whole birth thing, after the baby came out i cried...well like a baby haha my sister was crying, my mom was crying, joey looked like he was gonna pass out. he came over and gave my sister a huge kiss and then went right to alyssa and just watched while they cleaned her off and everything <333 and i just stood there and cried and hugged my sister and all i could say was "that was the grossest thing ever but she's so beautiful!" and she is, and i could've stayed there all night holding her and i'm not even the mom!
my sister is so lucky <3 and so is alyssa because i'm gonna spoil the heck out of her :]]]]]]]
