But the snow and wind had picked up at the very end of her trek back to CH5, the door literally within sight. She was fighting against it, leaning

[There's a white wolf heading your way! This isn't nearly as bad as the freak snowstorm in Kamui. Still, there are times when she has to hop in the snow a little, which just looks ridiculous for a being like her.

But eventually, she makes it to Rachel's side and looks up at her. Want some help with that?]

[You've got a jump on the one that's not used to snow at all, Ammy. And Rach's surprised by the wolf suddenly appearing out of nowhere, especially since she blends in with the snow pretty well. She has to yell to be heard above the wind, and her voice is muffled through a scarf, but still intelligible.]

Why're you out here?

[Ammy gives a light bark of her own and looks back at the forest. Because she has no place else to go, really. But that's okay, she can take the cold. She won't like it, but she can take it.

Right now, she's more worried for Rachel. She bumps her body against her leg, then moves around so that she's in front of Rachel, crouching down a bit and looking up at her. It'd be much easier if she could get a ride back to her house, right?]

[And the blonde nearly trips over her, not expecting that at all. She knows Ammy's a strange animal, but that's strange even for what she's expecting.]

What is it?

[It would be much easier, except she can't tell that's what the wolf wants.]

[She gestures to her back with her head, then stares up at Rachel expectantly. Is she gonna have to throw Rachel onto her back? SHE HAS NO QUALMS WITH THAT YOU KNOW.]

[GO RIGHT AHEAD because she's not getting it.]

I wish you could talk.

[TALKING IS NOT REQUIRED.

UP YOU GO~ Thankfully Ammy has had plenty of practice with this, and so she positions herself just right so that Rachel can land safely on her back.]

[Well that gets a yell of surprise because OKAY THAT IS WEIRD. And then she's on a wolf's back, what the hell? She's used to being the transportation, not taking it!]

[Fortunately she managed to hang on to her groceries.] What are you doing?!

[You situated? Good, good! Now, Ammy starts to trot! She can't run her fastest in this weather, but she should be able to get to the house in no time! Hope you're holding on to those groceries!]

[Well once Ammy starts to move she definitely is. And the apartment building isn't far away at all, even at a slower speed than normal, so they really do reach it in no time.]

[Once the wolf stops, Rachel waits a moment to see if she's going to move again, then carefully gets down. At least it's quieter in the lee of the walls.]

Thanks... I think.

[And she watches Ammy with a totally unsure expression on her face, because this animal really is pretty strange. Still, she seems nice.]

...Hey, look, it's pretty cold. Want to come up so you don't freeze too much?

[And she was just about to walk back to the woods and try to find a sturdy rise against the cold when Rachel invites her inside. Well, she doesn't have to ask twice! Ammy turns to face her, tail wagging, and gives a light bark of acceptance.]

Hope you like stairs, then. [Because she lives on the top floor.]

[Only one way to find out - Rachel pulls open the door, holding it for Ammy, then goes in herself and starts to climb right away.]

[Ammy doesn't seem to have too much trouble on the stairs, as she's keeping up just fine. There are a couple of times where she trips, but she catches herself and keeps going. Even the STAIRS are warmer than outside. The way she looks up at Rachel every now and then shows that she's grateful for the hospitality.]

[Outside is full of wind. Wind sucks and makes everything colder. Fortunately, Rachel rightfully interprets that look.]

Hey, I've been stuck out in the Arctic before. It's not gonna kill me to let you not have to deal with it.

[Best part? Entirely true.]

[Ammy can certainly relate - Kamui was a frozen wasteland with a blizzard so strong that even she couldn't get through it.

She moves a little slower as they climb higher though. She's climbed up stairs before - one city requires you to go up a ridiculous flight of stairs. But it's still inconvenient for her.]

[They're almost there! And once it stops she can just leap out the window.]

[Indeed, Rachel is in great shape, so she doesn't have nearly the amount of trouble. But she slows when Ammy does, not going to get too far ahead if she can help it.] Just a few more.
