Chase bribes Johnny and Peter to keep Zelda distracted for a few hours. It's not hard, setting everything up without her knowledge. For some (very few) things, having a bed-ridden wife helps. Once he's sure the nursery is ready, he puts in the final touches-- a blanket here, a teddy bear there-- he steps back, smiling. God, he's so lucky.
Hurrying down the stairs, Chase rushes into the front hall to grab the chocolates and roses he purchased earlier that day. It wasn't hard to find something sugar-free, and the roses are, of course, from the best florist in the city. Zelda deserves it. The jewelry box is hidden in his bag-- he'll get it later.
"Zelda?" he calls out, rushing up the stairs and stopping just outside the door. "Zelda, honey? I have something for you."
