Things in my Life

I've been busy. Last week I had two job interviews, one of which went really well, the other of which went at least OK. The second interview was one of those multi-part interviews, and I think I did better at the beginning of the interviews. At the first one, the interviewer and I were wearing the same shirt! Like, down to the same color. It was hilarious!

On Wednesday after my interview, I went to Jacob Wirth with ebenezer. Oh man, I was pretty wiped out that evening. We had a few neat beers, the one I ordered was Goose Island's Matilda, which was a Belgian-style ale. A little spicy, a touch of fruit... yum! We split potato pancakes, I had a bucket of pretzels, and G had one of the meaty dinner platters... What kind? I was so wiped out I just headed home after that.

Friday night my upstairs neighbors had another one of their epic fights... How can they possibly think that getting married will work out for them? The only plus side is that I played a lot of Game Boy while I was awake. Oh, I finished playing Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes in campaign mode. That was a fun game, made me think of Puzzle Quest a bit. It took me about 40 hours of play time to wrap up all five stages of the campaign. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. The battle system was fun. I just wish I knew other people who had the game so I could battle with other people. Now I am on to playing "Dawn of Discovery", another Ubisoft game. It's a pretty basic civilization development type game, which requires getting the hang of the ebb and flow of production and needs. I'm enjoying it, but I am clearly not fast or efficient at this point. I always want to do a few off-topic things, like build unnecessary farming areas and upgrade things that I don't need to... Anyway, fun so far.

Saturday I hung around the house since Ross and I were both beat from being kept up late by the upstairs disputes. My neighbor Cassie came over in the afternoon with her dog Toby for tea and cookies. Toby is such a cutie, and so funny... He spent the whole time we were having tea finding crumbs in the kitchen. We had a thai tea that Cassie brought and a white tea from the Adagio sampler. After that I was on my way to the Wheelock Family Theatre production of "Annie" with mzsylver. She scored us free seats for ushering! Sweet! Anyway, on my way there, I ran into my one of my lab's undergrad research assistants who actually was on her way to figure out the details of seeing the same show, so she and her friend tagged along with me! The show ended up being a lot of fun. Alan was in the chorus! The best mini-role he played was the dog-catcher! Mzsylver and I split a pretzel at intermission... yum! Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, including our intern and her friend. Only bummers: I was wiped out and couldn't go to any parties after, and I snagged my (brand new!) tights while helping clean the theater. D'oh!

Sunday I did some work, and Ross and I made a big pot of chili. Yesterday was another straightforward work and relax day. Today I lunched with mzsylver and desultor and one of her friends at All Star Sandwich Bar. I had the falafel sandwich, which was just OK, a little too dry, and Rydia and I split the Hell Fries! Those were delicious! After, ice-cream at Christina's, I had malted vanilla and cranberry sorbet, Mzsylver had burnt sugar and apple cider sorbet... Now I'm not even going to be hungry for dinner!

Tomorrow I am off to California, I'm glad to go see my family...
