Author's Note: I promised jenszabo some Marcus/Katie for this prompt table. Here it is finally, though it's sorta angsty. Happier stuff will hopefully emerge soon.
Marcus grinned around the blood and his eyes shone with a feral light. The pain felt good- the crash of the fist into his mouth, crushing his lips against his teeth until the skin broke and bled. The pain released and expelled that horrible unnamed feeling that had been building in him since the fight with Katie.
He couldn’t even remember what they started arguing about, only that it resulted in “taking some time away from each other”. Whatever the hell that meant. He had lost that fight apparently, letting her say that and then walk away.
Marcus returned the punch, aiming for his opponent’s eye instead of his mouth. They could’ve used wands, but Marcus enjoyed working with his hands. He kicked his leg out and caught the unsuspecting fellow’s knee. Marcus also enjoyed working with his feet.
This fight he could handle. This fight he could win.
That whole mess with Katie...that was something entirely different. Something that had started a pressure to form in Marcus’s chest- a pressure that was hard to define and to ignore.
He took another hit to his stomach, feeling the dizzy sensation of air rushing out of his lungs and his muscles rebelling. The bloke then gave him a beautiful uppercut that had him flying through the air and on his back with stars circling his vision.
Well, maybe he would lose this fight as well, he thought as he drifted away.
It still felt a hell of a lot better than losing Katie.
