i have a weakness for London-based musicians. Kate Nash, Lily Allen, Florence + the Machine, Just Jack and... yes it's true... Dizzee Rascal. if you heard "Dance Wiv Me" and didn't find yourself dancing along, i can't understand you.
for the Brit Awards this year, Dizzee and Florence did a collaborative piece. the
footage is online, but someone made this video on YouTube which is pretty darned good. isn't it incredible how she sounds the same as in her studio? her voice just blows me away, and he's as fun as ever.

this week has been a rush. Monday i went to the pre-departure training with Lauren the Canadian. afterwards went down to Kensington Market and Chinatown. Tuesday i went to the Ontario Science Centre with Danilo, where we also visited(!) the Harry Potter Exhibition. afterwards we met Dave and Adri in Greektown to have one last meal at Messini. coming back to the flat, we watched Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. i know. and yesterday was the all day Pre-Departure Orientation, eeeeeeeeek. it was one of the best days i'vehad in a very long time. came home to meet my cousin, Dana, who's in town for an interview with border control at the airport. today i've been free as a bird, and packing away. i'll likely be moving back to Burlington early next week(!) but since i work Friday-Saturday-Sunday at Rahier, things need to be packed now. and good god, there's a lot of it. packing up my life in Toronto already... Danilo leaves the city tomorrow, hopefully never to return - in his opinion. i wish we could have one more night-time walk, for first year's sake, haha. ohhh, it all falls apart now.
anyway, i do want to write more about the OSC and yesterday, but that will come later. Florence and Dizzee had top priority.
