a meaningful unit
of language sounds.
At least that's what they say.
But who's to say
what's in a word
besides those sounds
of which it is heard

if those sounds
aren't sounded enough
that's a sure fire way to lose
but sounding those sounds too often
well, your credibility
will be reduced

can it be possible
to sound a sound
that just doesn't sound right at all
and if that's possible
then how ever can you know
that your sound isn't really just a fall

is there more to that sound
than just the sound you hear
like an action waiting to arise
and without the act
the sound is sure to meet its demise

it really has nothing to do
with the sound you're sounding
but rather the deed
but what's a deed without that sound
that sound you so desperately need

so here's to that sound
and to that deed
and the lapse of action
and the silence of sound

and that meaningful unit
you're so proud of
that meaningful unit
of sounds that make love.
