Oooo. Helena left her motorcycle in the garage at Barbara's place.
Silly, silly Helena.
And look, the Pier! With a Boardwalk and carnival games and really terrible junk food!
Not to mention Old Gotham on the way back, with some of the wrecked and beautiful resort buildings that were sunk in the earthquake more than a decade ago.

"The Triumph Rocket III," Dinah said in worshipful tones. "Brand new. She got it in April. Taught me how to drive it in July." Dinah grinned at Priestly. "Helmet!"
Re: Afternoon!blondecanaryAugust 26 2009, 17:06:08 UTC
Dinah rolled the motorcycle out of the garage, buckled her own helmet on, then got on it, jingling the keys she'd lifted from Barbara's pegboard. "Hop on back, and put your arms around my waist!" She flipped her visor down, and put the keys in the ignition, pulling out the choke and starting the purrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Chortling, Dinah said, "I'm not reaching around you and smushing myself against you to try to drive this! You can just bitch at being a bitch first time through!"
Once he was firmly settled in place, though, she showed him shift into neutral, check the light, and the into first gear. "Hang on!"

"Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
Dinah had to be extra-careful at the lights, but then really let loose when they hit the main drag near Grant Park. Circling around, she found an open alley, and turned her head to Priestly. "You wanna try it now?"
Oh, this is so going to end badly. Especially if they scratch the paint.

Dinah swung off the motorcycle, then got back on behind Priestly, keeping it in neutral. She put her arms around him, and leaned in close to peer over his shoulder and arm to see the clutch and gear shift. "Okay. Clutch first. Caaareful."
Re: Afternoon!blondecanaryAugust 26 2009, 17:56:18 UTC
"Uh-hunh," Dinah said, wondering if her TK was strong enough to keep the bike upright if they started to wipe out. She clutched at Priestly for a second, saying, "Just a little more..." as the bike started to move.

Couldn't be that hard to figure out, though, right?
This would possibly end in tears.
