Back IN with Both Feet Running.
So today was my second first day back. I still have 26 kids, losing Nadine and Picking up Zeta. 15 boys and 11 girls, and 10 who don't speak English.
Oscar, I had two of his sisters before, one in pre-K and one in second grade, is a handful. Apparently he needs medication. He was largely refusing to cooperate today. I made a call but Oscar says that it was his aunt's number. I'll try to meet whomever drops him off in the morning. Tony still doesn't keep quiet. He fancies himself as the class clown. And Gamma who speaks, but is not yet sufficiently fluent, also eggs them on.
For the most part I do like my class and what I'll be doing. We do not have our social studies text books, seven weeks into the school year. Hopefully there is a grievance filed on this. I'll be teaching just science until the history texts come in. I didn't see hide nor hair of an administrator today. God save them and keep them...far from me.
