Officially in NYC
Well here I am, officially in NYC.
It's been a long day, I got on a bus in Charlottesville VA this morning at 8:55 and I got to NYC at 7:00pm. Whew. Thats a long trip.
I brought two HUGE bags with me, both of which weighed at least 50 pounds, and I had to lug them first to the bus station, then to bus. Then I got a blissful 3 hours to recuperate. After which, I had to transfer both bags and my two carry-ons to a line for the NYC bus, I almost had a heart attack.
After the bus to NYC was late and then stuck in traffic for an hour, I got to NYC at 7 pm. I dragged my bags up from the bottom of Port Authority to the street level and got a cab. After the cabbie almost died trying to get my luggage out of the trunk, I managed to get myself, in the building and up to my new apartment.
My roommate Michael and his son Michael (who is staying temporarily) are extremely nice and Michael Sr. is making me some dinner which i totally appreciate after being on a bus for like 10 hours today. Whew I'm exhausted. I'm going to try to post regularly to chronicle my adventures in NYC but we'll see how its goes!!
