It’s been a few days so I thought I better update, though in honesty relatively little has been going on!
P came up here last weekend and we went to Rich’s in Alsager for the Saturday. Board games and curry is the quick version ;) We had a good time, but towards the end of the evening Rich was being a bit anti-social and refusing to turn off a television programme that no one but him wanted to watch, and with tiredness reducing my toleration levels, P and I decided it was best to leave about then.
I also wasn’t best pleased to discover that the ‘dire straits’ Rich has been complaining of to anyone who will listen, which has prompted a high degree of worry for him amongst his friends, was not much more than some bad budgeting on his part which has left him broke for a couple of months. Everyone I know has to be careful with money at the moment, and given his situation results from the purchase of a Mercedes, my sympathy is waning.
On the Sunday P and I pottered about the shops for a little bit so that I could get some new shoes for work (my others are falling apart). I also bought a couple of CDs and books for my Mission 101 tasks (bought the Rufus Wainwright one you recommended Cat!). That will be most of my spending for this month, as what with the passport renewal, train tickets, dentist fees, zoo tickets and Merseyrail pass, I’ve had a lot of money go out of my account straight after pay day this month.
Two bits of small good news - one being that at my dental check up last night, the dentist confirmed that my wisdom teeth have stopped moving, so it’s currently not looking like I will have to have surgery to remove them! (*cheers*) - second being that I have finally finished my CV and sent it out to two agencies, one of which has already contacted me and reeled off a list of potential jobs they would like to put me forward for! They apparently put the information on my CV into their ‘house style’ before sending it out (after all my effort grrr!) but I asked them to send it to me first before doing that, so I could have a look at what they were saying about me! It feels good to finally have the ball rolling though.
