I've been rushed off my feet this week. I was sent to Manchester for a Hearing on Monday, which took most of the day up, was back in the office all day Tuesday which just about got me back on top of things. In the afternoon on Tuesday a colleague approached me and asked if I would attend a Case Management Conference for her today, which was again in Manchester. So today I spent an hour in the office this morning, pootled over to Manchester for the Hearing, did the Hearing, trekked back, arrived at my desk to be informed I was wanted to take notes in a Conference with Counsel in the next 20 minutes. Prepared the files for that, went off to the meeting room (praying it wouldn't be a long conference, as this is the one day each fortnight I need to leave early) took notes while watching the seconds tick by, got out with 2 minutes to spare, ran back to my desk, grabbed my bags, got changed in the toilets then made it to the station with about half a minute before my train was due. Could finally relax on the train knowing I would make it to the stables in time for my riding lesson.

Fortunately I am in the office all day tomorrow (well, according to things as they stand now) so I should be able to get my bearings again work-wise.
This weekend I'm in London, and on Saturday will be meeting up with to give have lunch, maybe go to the Tate Modern (Giant Spiders!) and give her her birthday presents (only one month and 14 days late... go me!). I'm looking forward to the weekend lots though - it feels like ages since I went down to London and even longer since I saw Cat.
I'm sure there must be more going on than this. However, the last few times I have sat down to type, my mind has gone blank. I'm currently re-reading all my Terry Pratchett's in an effort to work out which are the few that I have not read at all. It also helps me on my Misson101 task of reading 1 book a week for a year. I've had to move on to shorter 'lighter' books, as selecting too many novels at the beginning of this task has left me with 19 books to read in the next 10 weeks! If I don't get it this year, I have one more chance to get it done between February 08 & 09. If not, then I fail that task dammit.
On that note, I'm going to make a cup of tea (herbal, in the spirit of all things caffeine-free) and go to sit on my bed start 'Mort'.
