What's just as much fun as having a party? getting ready for one of course!
I've just spent all of today collecting various "stuffs" & miscellaneous "things" for the party (Jan 19th peoples!) The tiki theme is so much fun ...in fact I wonder why the hell I've never done the tiki thing before.
Course none of this organising comes without hiccups ...a couple of weeks ago I was at The Warehouse (were everyone gets a bargain) & noticed that they had heaps of tiki head piniatas ...I thought cool, I'll come back & get them next weekend when I haven't got so much else to do, then this past Saturday was a stinker & shopping was not on my priority list so I got there today & discovered they've sold out of every single tiki head! who else on this earth needs a flippin tiki head all of a sudden! arghhh! so if anyone knows where to get a tiki head piniata please let me know ...ta
Then ....
About 20 years ago an associate of my mothers was moving interstate & asked that my mother "store" her cast iron single bed for her. It lived under my house for 20 years until this year when I unearthed it, dusted it down & turned it into the most awesome day bed on my back verandah overlooking the creek, complete with full length bolster for back support & my moroccan throw cushions spread over it ...it's such an awesome spot to lie out on & read a book on. We figured we'd never hear from her again, then we get a call from this lady today (who we haven't heard from in 20 years) to say that she'd like it back!! like right NOW???!! is she for real? I couldn't believe it ...& it would have to be just before I have a party & need it to seat peoples! might just have to make it really difficult for her to pick up until after the party ...I mean it's been 20 years ...what's another week or 2? sheeesh! ...apparently she's going through chemo for cancer & finally has time to take care of such things ...surely there's more important things to take care of than a rusty old bed when going through a near death experience?!
Anyway I digress ...
This silly season has been so much fun ...& it seems it's only going to get a whole lot sillier! Now that my health finally seems to be in order(I've had 1 serious migraine since I went off the nasty pill I was on) I'm really starting to live life how I want & 2008 already seems to be going my way. There's so much I've got to post about I think I need to go back & do separate entries to make up for lost time ...if only I'd posted at the time, but it just never seems to work out that way! stay tuned for picture posts on the past month ...if I don't get distracted!
