Philly - Tuesday
It was really hot and sunny yesterday, in fact I got a little sunburn. It was about 27 oC. Yes thats right, it was 27oC and I got sunburnt in March.
Went to Fairmount Park and whilst AM was doing her rollerblading I went for a walk around. At one end of the park is the Art museum. AKA the place at the top of the Rocky steps. So I went for a walk around the outside of the building and walked up the Rocky steps. The view from the top is gorgeous, you can see the skyline of central Philly. It looked like a new sculpture was being installed in the corner near the museum. It looks like a load of tentacles.
Went back down and found a nice place to just sit and chill in the park. AM had finished her circuit so we went to Manayunk for some lunch as there are a few places that have outside tables. We went to La Buses and it was delicious. I had a grilled chicken breast sandwich that came with delicious home made fries. To drink I had a caffe mocha-tini. It was gorgeous, like iced coffee with a hint of alcohol.
Nipped into Banana Republic after lunch and bought two tops. Its like an upmarket gap. I was very impressed because the woman saw me wandering around with some clothes in my hands and took them off me to put in the changing room ready for when I wanted to try them on. Bought two tops in the end. We went back to the car, past the sculpture of a pretzel... and went to the produce store. Got a funky plant that I have forgotten to water so its looking rather limp :(
We came home and it was such a lovely day that we sat out on the balcony on the roof watching the sun go down. Their landlord Richard found us a table and asked if we needed any paint. (he has plenty)
We had fajitas for tea then it was time for Drunkopoly. Getting pissed whilst playing Monopoly is great fun. It went on til 1am and Greg won.
