what is it with my grandmas falling this month?
A few weeks ago, my Grandma B (dad's mom) fell out of bed. after several weeks of car trips and pain, she finally got a bone scan this week and turns out she has a hairline fracture. so she needs to rest so it can heal.
my plan for this weekend was: cleveland to visit my parents & go to Luke's cousin's graduation party, then to Akron to visit my grandma, then back to c-bus.
this morning, my aunt calls. my Grandma C (mom's mom) fell on her front steps, broke her hip, and has to have hip replacement surgery tomorrow. she was in so much pain she's on morphine, my Protestant minister's wife grnadma who doesn't drink.
so now I'm in Port Clinton at Luke's parents house, halfway between Lakeside and the hospital (5 mins each way). the upside is i get to spend some time in Lakeside and see my mom's family. obviously the downside is that my 89 year old grandmother has to have surgery. It's at noon tomorrow, so by tomorrow afternoon I should know how things are going.
on a more amusing note, at the graduation party, Luke's cousin (a recent criminiology major from OSU) had some friends over, and good friend was there, who is apparently in my stats class this summer. bet he never imagined he's go to his friend's house and see his teacher!
