I'm not going to spend the time to write out a full tasting note for this wine, because it's too delicious.
It's a bold purple-red, a color befitting Caesar. The scent is somewhat nondescript, with notes of licorice. However, the taste is where it's at. There's hints of fruity, but primarily an enigmatic combination of smokiness and licorice which seems to swirl and change with every sip. There's a gamey note in there as well. It's like eating fresh venison around a campfire in the woods, and then chasing it down with Sambuca.
Spain, Jumilla, Olivares 2006. $9 at Whole Foods. This is the second wine i've tried form Jumilla, and both were fantastic. This is a region I need to drink more of.
