The Joys of Public Transportation

I have to take buses to go places. Here are some of the incidents during a bus ride or while waiting for a bus.

• A guy sitting at a bus shelter posed and took a picture of himself using his cell phone camera.

• A guy got on the bus and, after speaking to the driver for several minutes, got back off and proceeded to repeatedly shout Thank You! with his hand raised. I couldn't hear what the conversation was about.

• An older couple got on the bus and another passenger already on recognized them and said hi. He got off at the next stop and got his bike off the rack on the front of the bus. As he did the wife asked her husband, "How much longer is he going to live, with his condition?" The husband replied, "I don't know and I didn't want to ask him."

• I was standing at the bus shelter in front of my apartment complex intending to go to my storage unit for a couple of things. A guy got to the shelter seconds after I did and sat down. Another guy walked up and asked if I knew when the #7 was due. I told him I wasn't sure, but was waiting for it, too. Eventually we saw a bus up the street and guy number 2 asked me if it was 7. I said I wasn't sure but suspected it probably was. The first guy said he was sure it was probably the #6. Both of us told him that wasn't possible because only the #4, #7 and #22 buses run that route, the #6 runs a completely different route. He insisted he has caught the #6 from that bus stop before.* By that time the #7 had approached so we just stopped arguing, wished the guy luck on waiting for the #6 and got on.

* The best way to get on the #6 bus is to take the #7 to a point that intersects with the #6 and get a transfer.

So far no hot SWAT/Bomb Squad guys chasing after the bus saying there is a bomb that will explode if the driver goes less than 55 mph Lol. There was the bomb scare at Blake Transit Center Friday (which turned out to be a discarded Thor press kit but I was on the other side of the city arguing with #6 bus guy.

friday the 13th, the joys of public transportation, adventure, link, riding the bus
