I filled out an application--and was approved--for an apartment. Unfortunately, I need $200, the remainder of the security deposit, by Tuesday and I don't get paid until Friday. Heh, that's ok, you didn't know. Some time ago, with the credit cards I had I got so far behind they went to collection agencies and eventually went to pay-them-off-or-we-harass-everyone-you-know-illegal-be-damned. At one point I had just enough money to pay them off, but still ended up screwing myself over in the end.

After I paid them all I have since not tried applying for new ones. For a long while now, everything has been cash-only-or-I-do-without.

Yeah, I wish I didn't have them. They certainly make things harder. Then again, I wouldn't have been able to move into my place without them. I finally paid that off, but it was like, bye bye government check, bye bye work bonus. Everyone else was all, "Look at this new TV I bought with my tax check!" and I was like, "Look at the debt I paid off with mine!"
