Thank you
autumn_lilacs for the v-gift *hugs*.
I passed my day training. Tonight I train with a night person. Tomorrow night I am pretty much on my own, although the trainer is scheduled to work so if I have any problems I can still go to her.
I admit I already miss the day people. Everyone is so nice and helpful. And silly. My first day there another CNA, J., was going down to dialysis to retrieve a patient & S. had me go along so I would know where it is, although honestly I would need a GPS to find it on my own.
S: Although, working nights, you probably won't have to go there. Dialysis is usually done during the day. Mostly you would probably just be taking the dead bodies down to the morgue.
Yesterday we took a patient to Angioplasty (again, I would need a GPS to find it, too). On the way back to retrieve him we passed a hallway where 2 medical personnel were loitering.
S: Did you see that? That was a drug deal. Any time you see only 2 people standing around like that in a hallway it's a drug deal. A Dr. selling prescription drugs.
I'm almost pretty sure she was joking...
Yesterday we ended up finishing everything we had to do about an hour before shift end and were just standing around chitchatting and keeping an eye out for any call lights that someone might press.
Me: Someone has to show me where the Morgue is.
Coworker CNA L: Why do you want to know where the Morgue is?
Me: Because I'll be working nights now & should know where it is.
L: You're the first person to actually want to be taken to the Morgue.
S: Well, I'm not showing you where it is, it gives me the creeps. If you actually do have to take a body there, you'll just have to ask the person who sends you where it is.
In other news, I lost my free internet service. Have to pay for it once again. I had paid for my room through next Wednesday, so I will then be relocating to a motel a little closer. Which means cleaning & packing a few months of accumulation. Blah.
And I am working both Christmas Eve/Christmas morning and New Years Eve/morning. Which is just as well. I need the money.
And my quest for inexpensive, multi-pocket Royal Blue Scrubs continues.
I sacrificed about 2 hours sleep to first go to a uniform store, but theirs were way too expensive. Then I went to Target to buy a lock for a locker at work in which to put my stuff. Bought some other necesseties, got back, crawled into bed for a nap and realized I forgot to buy the lock. *facepalm* I know I have one buried in my car somewhere, but it is way too cold out right now to spend more than a couple minutes rummaging around looking for it.
I also forgot to buy something neon-y or glow in the dark to stick somewhere on my car so I don't spend 10 to 15 minutes wandering around the ginormous parking lot in the freezing cold dark looking for my car.
