I went for a bike ride again today. My butt hurts. A lot.
I hadn't gotten far when I saw a bunny in the parking lot.
This was the only picture I could get before it hopped away:
Then I got clobbered by a very thick branch hanging from this tree. I had to maneuver around the car in the background first. That and suddenly losing my sidewalk threw me off.
And no, I don't have a helmet. Can't afford it.
I kept going.
Then there is this tree:
The trunk has always fascinated me:
And this bush. There are two different species growing together. Ok, maybe it isn't 2 different species, but two different bushes. You get the idea. I hope:
I rode alot further than I should have. 13 miles, which doesn't seem like much, but for my second day I was tired by the 9th or 10th mile. I ended up having to walk the bike for about a half mile on grass. Then, when I finally had more sidewalk I got back on the bike but lost control and me and the bike fell over. I fell on the right but managed to bash my left shin. It still hurts. Then I nearly ran into an idiot who thought the word Stop on a stop sign (at a side street intersection) meant slow down from 40 MPH to 15 and speed up again. I was on the other side of the intersection. I couldn't brake fast enough and might have gone flying over the handlebars if I had. I had to grab ahold of the stop sign near me. As the driver sped past he did apologize. To which I replied, yes, I'm sure you are. Otherwise, I would have slammed into his driver side. I was tempted, but were he to call the police, would I get a ticket for not keeping control of my bike? They ticket for not keeping control of ones car.
The last 1/2 mile or so was the longest ever. At least 3 miles worth.
Anyhoo, I'm home having major heart palpitations because the Penguins just tied the score with something like 15 or 20 seconds left of the 3rd period. I am freaking out right now.
