Also you should see if you can upload some video or screenshots of it in progress. Always good to see how things have developed even if they are just for your own amusement.
could you take some video or screenshots of GP for me too? I'm going from memory how it worked and looked. and my memory was generally "fucking hell andy, you killed me again" or "just bloody die will you?"
excellent. how did the shooting and stuff go again? standard bullets increase heat, when heat is full damage is caused. a limited number of explosive bullets. heat didn't rise when in water. collisions cause damage.....
the problem I am going to have I think is the deformability of the landscape. in LBP, the landscape is deformable, but afaict, only from explosions, which means that colliding with the walls will not dig you into them like in GP. I might also have some issues with having players on the screen and the shape of the level.... I'll cross that bridge when I come to it though.
Heat just stopped you firing when it reached it's limit, I think there was a drop in the rate of fire when it was getting near the limit. It still got hot in water but much slower. I think for the standard guns you'd run out of ammo before the heat stopped it in water. Explosive bullets ate ammo faster and got hotter faster too.
You had an alternative weapon that could be a bomb, missile, heat-seaker, mine, turbo-boost, instant-stop etc.
Collisions could be sticky (ships intersected and had trouble getting free), bouncy (if I hit you then you'd go flying but I'd gently bounce off... I seem to remember using this to pound you into the scenery!), regular (I think this made you both impermeable so you didn't get stuck together and just regular Newtonian collision responce).

There's a few screenies there :) I guess I'd better figure out how to capture something from my Amigas then!
