Clarification!
The LJ BlogAThon is on July 17.
There's also one called Project Blog that takes place the 24th.
You are welcome to do either. Or both, but you'd be utterly insane to do both, IMO. Then again, we're all pretty crazy just to be doing one. :)
This community was started for the LJ BlogAThon - but it is fully open to LJers doing Project Blog as well. Go ahead and give me your charity info, and I'll maintain two separate lists on the infopage. Just let me know which one you're doing.
For those who haven't done this before, the instructions to give your potential sponsors are simple... just go to the charity's donation page - and you should provide the link in every post, ideally - and donate! I ask my sponsors to forward me the e-mail receipt so I can keep track of how much I've raised - plus, I'll be offering incentives.
It's not organized this year. So do this however it works best for you - as long as all money goes *directly* from the sponsor to the charity.
We seem to have an even split of newbies and seasoned veterans here... if anyone has any questions, please do ask, and I'm sure all of the vets will be glad to give advice and share perspective. :)
