(no subject)
I haven't posted in a while, I always start a post and then forget about it and shut my computer down and never feel like re-typing it. I've got just over a day left in san francisco for 2005! For some reason I'm a bit sad...and I don't know why. Maybe it's just coming off a high, I had a cooking compentency just now, I had to make a grilled pork chop with a bordelaise sauce, pomme duchess, and sauted broccoli, and finish it off with a poached pear. Tomorrow I have to make poached salmon, rice pilaf, couscous, and a burre blanc sauce...and I think that's it, no dessert on it. We have to do it each individually and there's 17 students in the class and limited burners, so we are using pots on the grill, pots on the flat-tops, everything is squished together and FAST! I'm kinda glad I didn't get the salmon today, some did some didn't. That's going to be a bit easier than the pork chop, I just need to think about how to present it and garnish it. In about 2 hours I have to give a presentation on casino security that's at least 10 minutes long. I rented Ocean's 11, the newer one, as a visual aid. I'm plannig to show the part where they are all sitting around talking about the vaults security, I don't know how realistic that part is, but it's a pretty sweet part. I miss everyone a LOT and I hope to see you all at least once. Luna, james is going to come with us to see Rent on monday or tuesday night, so he can sing and dance some of the parts so we aren't stuck with them all, find some other people that'd like to come to be characters also, that way we could each be one person...ooo i wanna be roger or tom....carpe diem bitches!
