Wow, I'd forgotten how small kids are. It's one thing to work with them each day and hold them; it's quite another to make dance costumes for them. So. Damn. Tiny. (We're having Culture Day on Friday, and as I'm in charge of the ballet troupe, I thought I'd make little vests for the boys and skirts for the girls. We're dancing to The Nutcracker. We've also got a hula group and a hip-hop group. They're all going to be so cute. <3)

I don't know if it was my hormones this past week or if my older ones had all taken their adorable pills or what, but I kept wanting to hug them and bring them home with me. Of course, they were more than happy to oblige. With the hugging, I mean.

Monday, it was too wet to play outside after lunch. I got out my ipod so we could dance and play statues. Is there anything cuter than preschool kids grooving to Lady Gaga?
Hyo: Ms. Adele, you have "Poker Face"?
Me: Yes, but I've got some new Lady Gaga songs for today.
Hyo: :D :D :D
They really liked dancing to "Telephone".

Thursday, I wore the dress I finished on my way to Korea. When the kids arrive in the morning, I'm usually sitting at the tables to help them do their workbook page and whatnot, so they hadn't seen me upright until I walked over to the carpet to lead circle time. A few jaws dropped as they looked up at me, and then there was a chorus of, "Giant dress!" Of course, my reaction (of bursting out laughing) meant that for the rest of the day, the older kids brought up my giant dress at every opportunity, even after I'd pointed out that my dress was not giant, just long, and that I wasn't a giant anyway, so I didn't need to wear a giant dress.
A while later, trying to get them to read the sentence, "We see three green trees," at the same time was proving difficult, so I finally put the card down.
Me: Read it TOGETHER! That means AT THE SAME TIME!
Kids: Okay.
Me: All right, let's try again. *about to hold up the card*
Kids: *perfectly in synch* We see a big, giant dress!
*much giggling ensued*

A couple of weeks ago, our craft was making flags. I told them they could make the flag of any country they liked, and to show them how to do it, I made a Canadian flag. As the kids watched me cut out the maple leaf freehand, their eyes got wider and wider and at the end, they spontaneously burst into applause, as though they'd just seen the best magic trick ever. I felt like a superheroine. *wibbles* XDDD

In news unrelated to kids, I feel I've been rather unproductive today. Though I did go to a ballet class, then to the travel agency to hand over my passport so they can take care of getting me a Chinese visa (less troublesome than going myself, though more expensive), then went and bought some clothes even though I'd told myself I wouldn't. At least I got a whole outfit? XD;
Oh, well. Tomorrow shall be a Day of Sewery, so I'll be able to at least finish a few things, and add a few more stickers to my sewing page.
Speaking of which...
That, my friends, is what happens when I really put my mind to it. I can do stuff!
That's a total of 19,563 words written since the beginning of February*. Well, 17,456 since I technically wrote about Mt. Fuji last year... But that's still a hell of a lot of words, no? I'm rather proud of myself. My reward will be another 6 course dessert extravaganza at Miravile Impact. You remember,
this place? Not sure when I'll go, but whenever it is, it'll be amazing. Anyone else who wants to celebrate reaching a goal (or not, whatever floats your boat!) is welcome to come along!
