Back from death's door (only not really)

For my screen debut (more on that after the filming on Sunday -- don't worry, it's not at all as glamourous as it sounds!), I've been told that a portion will be an interview including such questions as, "What advice would you give to the Japanese English teachers for communicating better with the ALTs?" Since I've never been an ALT, I'm turning to those of you who are or have been.

Advice?

Got a sweet little card from tayles today. Thanks, love! <3

puzzlepiece stayed over Monday night, and brought cookies! I like cookies. Tabitha, the traitor, slept with the guest and not with the hand that feeds her.

At last, I have warmth, in the form of a cute blue space heater. It swivels! *basks in the glow*

One thing that's nice about Japan is that it's easy to forget that it's Christmas when it's, well, Christmas. Sure, there are lights up in the shopping districts, store employees wear Santa hats and every coffee shop has a special holiday menu, but there's no snow, no malls filled with stressed-out shoppers, and somehow the seasonal music isn't quite so intrusive. It's not that I don't enjoy Christmas music; on the contrary, I really like it. I just don't need to hear the 34622109th pop version of "Silent Night" each time I walk into a place of commerce.

And now, to watch my shiny new tenimyu DVD. I have tea, wine, knitting, a space heater, and dancing tennis boys. That sounds like a good Friday night to me!
