Please don't hate me... I really wanted to do the whole BOM... really I did. But then didn't. Instead, I finished early.
Basically I'd been behind with it, then found out that a friend was pregnant and realised the quilt would make a great baby quilt, but it wouldn't have been ready on time following the BOM. At this stage I'd made a grand total of two blocks and was about four behind... so I made blocks 3 and 4, made block 7 when it was posted (because it looked easier than 5 and 6, which I was gearing up to). Then I panicked (baby had just arrived) and instead of making blocks 5 and 6 (and making something up for 8 and 9) I made four simple 9 patch blocks, arranged the lot, sewed it all together, quilted it and bound it. (I make it sound like this took no time at all... oh yes it did.)
I reckon I'll make blocks 5,6,8 and 9 anyway and do something different with them, maybe a cushion cover for a friend's daughter's room or something like that. Or in a completely different fabric for myself.
