a birthday present misused
Rather than ask my friend to entertain me on my birthday, I told many that their present to me would be to attend a Rewind the 80s music party with me later, on Saturday. I'd been to one of the DJ's 80s parties before, and he played good music. Well, last Saturday proved that his previous party had been exceptional in all meanings of the word. The party was a total bust. Boring, tired and devoid of people. I feel I misused my b-day presents. I should have saved them for a better party. But it did mean a lot for these friends to humor me. I can't say that any of them would have chosen to go there on Saturday, were it not as a birthday favor to me.
On a different note, I found a parody of Are You Being Served on youtube, and I've failed to post it. Although the show wouldn't have been nearly as funny were it as upfront with its jokes as this spoof is, it would have saved me some embarrassment. In my early teens, my family would gather to watch Are You Being Served at 10:30 pm. I'd try to not laugh too hard whenever Mrs. Slocombe would bemoan the state of her pussy, because my mom would watch with us. I think that when my mom caught on to the "pussy" jokes, she told us to stop watching it. So I'd watch it in my room. ;-) Enjoy!
