Are you overusing your rotator cuffs? And I thought there were a disproportionate number of LGBT people in library science. It would certainly make sense. I've been reading a lot of articles about treating grief and bereavement in children and adolescents. I know it sounds dreary, but it isn't at all. There's an intervention where you teach them how to write and perform grieving song lyrics.

Good job swimming at all. It keeps your hand in, so to speak, until time pressure lightens up.
I mostly swim freestyle, so the repetitive motion of rotating my shoulder could become a problem. Luckily, I think I'm safe because my pool is crowded and I have to break my stroke at least once per three laps. Also, I gave up on the hand paddles, which increase the square poundage your arms move and therefore the intensity of the joint pressure.
