Nursing Home

I'm making this photo frame thing like jo did for lucy for my grandma. I'm putting pictures of the family with their names written underneath each since she has dementia. I doubt it will do much but at least then I feel like I'm doing something. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :D

Last time I went to see her she was compulsively opening and closing her red plastic laminated purse. Inside was a broken piece of plastic, a sugar satchet (the contents lined the bottom of the purse as if they were pebbles lining a creek bed) and a perfectly creased $5 which she kept taking out and insisting we give it to collection.

She also gave me multiple tours of the rooms which she was confined to, only to forget straight after and either suggest we have another cup of tea, that it was time to go home, or give another tour again. As she walked along she resembled a giant toy, swaying from side to side, toddling along. SHe doesn't bend her knees properly so that her knees may as well been encased in plastic like the dolls she used to give me as a kid (she also gave me grandma knickers but they're not quite so sentemental). Whenever something caught her attention to she would stagger slightly in that direction.

Another lady in the unit, May, who kept kissing me on the cheek, told me how (pointing at Grandma) strange that lady is. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it was my Grandma, not that she would have remembered anyway. She used to be a champion swimmer and is now a dumpy old woman with knobbly fingers. She has a bit of a bitch to me about other ladies in the unit whenever she waves me over (which is quite frequently). I don't want to turn out like that. Even in my old age, to keep telling these 'secrets' as if they're of any importance to the listener. But hey, in the long hours spent their she provides some small amusement.
