I was talking to Aj (among other things) about how we, on the most part, choose to ignore the orphan in Africa dying of aids. But if he was right in front of us we would feel obligated to do something to help them?

How's this for in your face art: you jet over to Africa, pick up some kids (the ones that have got it really bad. the ones starving so that their bellies are so bloated they look like pregnant children) and fly them to wealthy Western nations. Giant images of children on billboards is confronting but when they're walking along the same street... now that's in your face. I wonder how people would reacte. Would they feel an immense sense of guilt and go sponsor a child? Or will they complain to the authorities? Like how there were the ads of starving children and people complained about them being too graphic.

I wonder, for all those parents attempting to protect their children, how many tried to protect the children with their bulging stomachs?
