I Hate Wireline!

Man, they sure are horrible to deal with. Jody moved his computer to work last week, so moved the DSL account from his name to my name, and was able to get it at half the price. It was supposed to be connected on Thursday, but when I came home, I got an error message. It was Saturday before I had time to call in, and they told me there was still an open order on the account, and rescheduled it for today. Turns out it was just a matter of re-registering the account in my name and I could have done it on Thursday night if I'd known or been told. So when I called in on Monday morning to reschedule it, they told me I could add a landline and get $100 cashback, and I figured what the heck. The landline was supposed to get working on Tuesday, and the DSL today. Came home, no go on either. Grrr. And stupid IVR that is voice response, trying to go through it with a 3 yr old talking in the background. Grrr!! Finally get through to someone on the DSL side, go through the account registration I could have done on Thursday, and while doing that ask about the landline and find out that this account is DSL only, so they would have to disconnect it and reconnect it and go through the whole thing again! I don't think so!!!! Finally went through the registration process, but when I went to try a website, it gave me a password error. There was a link for a password reset, but oh no, it's an authentication failure on my modem. She transferred me. While I was waiting, I went through the password reset, and by the time another real person came on the line, I'm surfing yahoo. Bleah. No wonder the wireline side is losing the company modem. They just can't seem to get their act together, no follow up with the customer to make sure things are working okay, no explanations of how to get things working. At least it's up and running now.
