The early afternoon thunderstorms are back today. They just passed by, and now the sun is coming out again.
This is one of my favorite times of year....late spring turning toward summer. The older I get the more I look forward
to the warmth. Turning 40 this year, I can feel the crone inside of me with her old and aching bones wanting to lay in
the sun and absorb the warmth.
But I'm not an ancient hag yet!!
Today was not so bad....I spent some time outside in the garden working with our script doctor on "Dark Water". I think I have a good direction to go in with my pirate screenplay. It was enjoyable, even though she is a bit of a know it all, which I found amusing.
She's a good person and she's trying to help. My fearce independence makes me resistant to too much help. I like being a self sufficient person. It's a thing with me.
Having learned that there's few people that are depenable, and even fewer who aren't full of BS, I tend to shy away from the clustering and small talking.
I prefer the honesty of the dojang. There's no BS there...you either know it or you don't. If you don't, you work on it til you do.
There's no room for silliness.
Speaking of the dojang...
I'm playing hookie tonight as the red tide has rolled in and I"m not up to sparring the boys while having a painful visit from Aunt Flo. UGH.
Thank Goddess I can wear black. Anyway...yeah....TMI.
Still Wednesday will be good...back at Kingwood ....back in the saddle from my brief end of semester break from training. I'm working on the brocheur designs for Grandmaster Kim, and I'll have them finished this week....as promised. I found out there's a demonstration at KW on Saturday night....women's self defense program or something. If I can get back from Baytown in time I'll have to go ...since the only female adult instructors at Kingwood are myself Claudia and Natalie. I wish Kit had told me sooner.
Sunday is Tuksu Suryon and Black Belt class at the world headquarters...I always enjoy those classes. Master Geary emailed and said she'd be coming out from Austin. It'll be good to see her again. I love my Chayon-Ryu ladies...so strong, confident,
and dedicated.
This is more or less a ramble, with no real destination.
Part update, part musing....
I guess I'm out of stuff to say and it's time for the news, so I'll see you all later.
