That is a lovely poem. I thought I knew most of ee cummings work but I can't recall ever reading this one before, so thank you for bringing it to my attention. Our large tree is surviving the animals very well so far (knock on wood) as our German Shepherd is much more interested in Christmas goodies than in the tree. But this poem makes me think of the little rosemary tree I have decorated with lights and handmade angels that the talented Germansoulmate sent me...it really is a beautiful tree and since it is potted and fragrant, it is perfect! It will provide me with fresh rosemary and I think I will keep the angels on it long after Christmas as they look so pretty.

We've been celebrating Christmas since Friday evening. It's alway wonderful to be around my daughters. This year only one. Too hard for the other one this year.
