5 Story Ideas:
“I-95“
- the attempt of a 20-something to race from Baltimore to Philadelphia to stop the marriage of his high-school crush/ long-term friend, a commentary on lack of drive/planning, expectation of instant gratification, failure ensues as he drives north.

“We Woke Up”
- After a blast rockets up through the ice of a moon orbiting one of the gas giants in the outer solar system and satellite signals are received on earth, mankind observes the news and considers the ramifications of not being “alone”, and how to interact with this new, younger species.

“The Guns of Brixton”
- In a nondescript working class neighborhood, police (essentially working for a major corporation attempting to drive the people out for development) drive the populace into an armed insurrection.

“Manic Pixie Dream Girl”
- A relationship comedy about a level-headed college graduate opening a café, his manic-pixie-dream-girl girlfriend, his absent-minded (Zach-braff-esque) friend, and his friend’s stable, rational Fiancé. As he gets closer to opening his café, he begins to second guess his relationship, life goals …etc. and suffers an all around existential crisis.

“Spoonful”
- After completing a job-training course, a formerly homeless man uses a recipes he learned growing up in the south as a child to win a cook-off against a self-important corporate chef by bringing together a mix of eccentric neighborhood cooks.

“Spoonful” Pitch- The story, told via flashbacks during a neighborhood cook-off somewhere in Baltimore, MD of the main character’s childhood, time spent homeless (due to poor economic situation) - and recovery afterwards, tied in with a more traditional snobs vs. slobs story of the main character’s desire to out-do the snooty executive chef of a chain restaurant opened in the former location of the main character’s favorite bar/pool hall/ community service place. The story works as a cross between Caddyshack, Revenge of the Nerds, and Slumdog Millionaire. The eccentricities and comic personalities of those involved in the cook off bounce off each other, and tie together a heartening story of the main character overcoming adversity in his childhood, and then rebounding in the face of economic hardships in the city. In the end, community and self-determination defeats the corporate giant, including one community member who makes a last-minute decision to switch from working with the chain restaurant to the local cook-off team.
